UnBELIZEable
UnBELIZEable… Haha, funny title, look at me. I only wish I could have made that up. However, that phrase is printed on every t-shirt, bumper sticker, key chain, coffee mug and trinket in Belize. Its good for gift shop business when your country’s name can be used as wordplay.
Anyway, it is about 16°F here in the middle of Missouri so I thought I would finally post some photos from my trip to Belize last month. We went to Ambergris Caye off the coast of Belize City and pretty much did nothing for a week– which was exactly the point. Belize actually has the second biggest barrier reef next to The Great Barrier Reef in Australia. That means great diving and snorkeling!
Hopefully these will warm you up… Or just make you hate winter even more…
Me flying in the co-pilot seat on our "Tropic Air" flight. I found it just a bit ironic that I had to put my liquids and gels in a bag but was allowed to sit in the co-pilot seat with full control of the plane if I wanted...
Caye Caulker, Belize
Near the "Blue Hole"-- a giant sinkhole in the middle of the ocean with amazing diving.
Half Moon Caye, Belize. Population: 2-- A park Ranger and a lighthouse operator.
Our dock on Ambergris Caye. I firmly planted my ass in a hammock at the end of the dock for the week.
Betsy the resident "guard dog." Obviously doing lots of guarding here.
We went spear fishing for dinner. As fresh as you can get.
Ernesto, who lives on the property, cleans the fish
