Ahhhh… The end of the semester. We finally finished putting together our audio slideshow for our final project in Advanced Techniques in Photojournalism. As you may remember, Joel, Vivian, Sarah, and I went to the National Gathering of The Coalition of Historical Trekkers last month and spent two days photographing the event. I can’t tell you how many thousands of photos we took or how much audio we recorded, but here is our end product. We could probably tighten it up or fix a few things, but this is our initial edit. You can view it full screen but it will probably look a bit distorted. Enjoy:

It is with deep appreciation that I thank you John for a fine job! I understand time constraints on a endeavor such as this and I think you did a excellent job of capturing a glimpse into what the COHT is all about. Folks studying, learning, and living the history of this American nation in the time frame of the 18th and 19th century. We know we can never “escape” the 21st century totally but we sure know how to play well in the 17 and 1800’s! Your group of journalists was a pleasure to have for the weekend. Glad that we offered some variety for you to work with! YMH&OS (Your most humble and obediant servant) Mark Rooster Roster Pres. COHT
Really a nice job, kudos to all of you! The COHT is one of the best groups out there, and they honor our history beautifully. (I’m delighted they invite me to take part every year!)
You put the film together in such a way that it truly captures that effort, both the motivation and the often-funny dichotomy of having one foot in the past and one in the present.
And you got a really sweet pic of me and my husband–made me smile, thank you!
John, I’d love to get a copy of the photo of my husband and me, looking at eachother, at 2:03 in your video. Would that be possible?
Best–
Kate
Good stuff John. Makes me all the more sorry I missed it.
